In this workshop we'll explore yogic practices to support stress, anxiety and depression. Although very common human experiences, these emotions can hugely impact a person's mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing.
Using a combination of yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breathing practices) and mindfulness to build awareness of what's happening in the mind and body during these conditions, we'll then apply specific practices to encourage a move towards greater nervous system regulation. The workshop will involve talk, discussion and practice so please wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely
In recent years, modern science is catching up with what the ancient yogis have known for centuries; that yoga can positively effect the mind and body. The emerging field of yoga therapy offers an alternative approach to mental and physical wellness based on these ancient teachings but backed up by recent developments in neuroscience and psychotherapy. As a yoga therapist, Chloe trained with The Minded Institute in London and now works in York offering private yoga therapy sessions in person and online.
The workshop will take place at The Stables Yoga Centre, York. Places are limited to 10 people so please book early to secure a spot.
Early bird discount £30 (runs until midnight 31/08/22) £35 after that
Please note, this workshop is not suitable if you are currently experiencing a severe episode of anxiety or depression. If you would like to contact the teacher to discuss things first, please email Chloe at nfo@chloemckay.com.
